it's different for everyone as i sit here now i don't really track my calories i kind of do like i still weigh out certain food items but i'm i kind of know now and i'm at a place where i feel like i don't need to track pedantically so i started doing that i think for me as they say it truly is 80 what you eat 20 exercise that couldn't be more true for me so i really wanted to focus on my diet first and then kind of hone in on the exercise later on i can't really remember how quickly i lost anything um because i did i did weigh myself obviously um and you want to be careful with the scales because i think initially they're good for tracking weight loss but when you get to a point where you're okay with how everything is don't look at the scales because you can wear the exact same but look better because of muscle content everything like that anyway i use myfitnesspal to track my food it's my favorite it's super easy especially if it's like packaged food you can just scan the barcode put in how much you're having that's basically what i started doing and in terms of what i eat um as i've mentioned before i prefer to eat a more lower carb diet that's just what i prefer because i would rather fill up on high volume foods than eat a small amount of rice or pasta because naturally carbs are quite high in calories and i just prefer to eat a lower carb diet it's just it's just what i prefer and i find that it works best for my body so i don't really eat bread i mean i probably have it once in a blue moon i don't remember the last time i had it though and i don't eat rice and i don't eat pasta now i do have things like edamame pasta or cauliflower rice because they are lower carb and more of them they're lower calorie and i just high protein like i just prefer i eat a lot of eggs i eat a lot of chicken i eat a lot of fish white fish in particular you guys probably have seen my dinner that i have like all the time i pretty much at all my meals will have a source of protein a source of fat and a source of complex carbohydrates which is kind of like the best thing you can do so i eat a lot of vegetables and a lot of like lean protein that's basically what my diet looks like and obviously if you want to see specifically things that i eat check out my what i eat in a days because i grow much more in depth second of all i think one of the things that has made a huge difference in the way i eat and my weight loss
